Michael Rikanga

Biography

Michael David Rikanga is Assistant Lecturer at Department of Geography in University of Dar es Salaam. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Geography and Environmental Studies and Master of Science in Climate Change and Sustainable Development. He is a novice researcher doing his PhD under Maarifa project, focusing on the potential role of citizen science as a tool to decolonise forest conservation to promote climate change adaptation and enhance sustainable livelihood in Tanzania. Michael is also a member of East African Chair on Forced Displacement where his works focuses more on climate and development (conservation) induced displacements. In last two years he has managed to collaborating in several academic articles and one book chapter.
