Michael David Rikanga is an Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Geography at the University of Dar es Salaam. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Geography and Environmental Studies and a Master of Science in Climate Change and Sustainable Development. He is a novice researcher doing his PhD under the Maarifa project, focusing on the potential role of citizen science as a tool to decolonise forest conservation to promote climate change adaptation and enhance sustainable livelihood in Tanzania. Michael is also a member of the East African Chair on Forced Displacement where his works focus more on climate and development (conservation) induced displacements.
